By accessing and using the KidsAlert platform ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. The Service is provided to assist in the rapid dissemination of information regarding missing children and to support search and recovery efforts. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
KidsAlert provides a community-based alert system intended to aid in locating missing children. The platform allows verified organizations to broadcast alerts and registered users to submit sightings or relevant information. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the information broadcasted and are not a substitute for official law enforcement services.
3. User Responsibilities
- You must provide accurate and truthful information when reporting a sighting or interacting with the platform.
- You must not use the platform to submit false, malicious, or misleading reports. Such actions may lead to account suspension and potential legal consequences.
- Always contact local emergency services (e.g., 911 or the local equivalent) immediately if you believe a child is in imminent danger.
- You must safeguard your account credentials and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Privacy and Data Collection
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the Service, you consent to the collection, processing, and sharing of information as described in the Privacy Policy, specifically regarding location data and sighting reports which may be shared with law enforcement.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, KidsAlert and its parent organizations, affiliates, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service. We do not assume responsibility for the actions of law enforcement, volunteers, or other users.
6. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, sending a notification to registered users. Continued use of the platform following such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
